Purchasing, refinancing, and renovating real estate involves a tremendous amount of loan data. However, as a national mortgage lender can testify, that data comes in from many different channels and in many different formats. Processing loans therefore requires exceptional integration capabilities between vendors and partners and the mortgage lender’s own internal systems.
Unfortunately, integration isn’t a “once and done” matter. Changes are frequently required to keep the integration of internal and external systems streamlined. For example, a field might need to be added to accommodate a new piece of required data, or a percentage might have to be changed in a standard calculation. Typically, such changes are handled by IT – a lengthy and cumbersome process. Because of the huge number of vendors and partners the mortgage lender exchanged data with, they wanted to empower their business users to make simple changes on their own.
The mortgage lender already had in place the Adeptia Integration Suite, an enterprise-class solution that incorporates all aspects of internal integration, from data to applications to business processes. Now, they complemented the system with the outward-facing Adeptia Connect.
Adeptia Connect is a data integration platform designed to help companies be more agile by onboarding customers, vendors, and partners rapidly. Adeptia Connect provides support for all commonly used data formats, including Text, CSV, Excel, Fixed Length, XML, Databases, and JSON, and for a rich set of commonly-used data protocols, such as FTP, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, Email, SOAP, REST Web Services, etc.
What is key, however, is that Adeptia Connect uses a “configure, don’t code” approach. By employing wizards and simple-to-use screens, business users are able to make connections and manage data interfaces without the need for IT to engage in custom programming. Practically overnight, the ability to make the changes necessary to streamline loan processing operations shifted from mortgage lender’s IT department to the desks of business users. The results were impressive, with an estimated 30% cost reduction for processing changes to datasets, and a huge drop in the turnaround time for changes.
Adeptia Connect and the Adeptia Integration Suite also satisfy the mortgage lender’s need for security. As a loan company, a great deal of personal information (PI) is transmitted and processed every day. With Adeptia’s systems in place, the mortgage lender can opt to utilize both a secure bridge and a secure engine, which expand on the already exceptional security built into both systems.
The secure bridge allows the mortgage lender to access data from on-premise databases, folders, and applications in addition to data residing in the cloud. This data can then be integrated securely with other on-premise or cloud applications.
The secure engine permits on-premise data processing within the mortgage lender’s own servers, as an additional level of security for PI. No data is therefore required to move into or out of the cloud for loan processing.
