As data integration software continues to innovate and evolve, here at Adeptia we thought it worth asking the question, “What are IT professionals looking for in their data integration solutions?”

We surveyed over 150 U.S. organizations and Adeptia customers about their toughest data integration challenges and the benefits they’re looking for in a solution to address these.

Here is what we learned about the 6 things IT pros want in their data integration solutions:

1.Speed

71 percent of the companies we surveyed identified speed in completing their integration projects and getting to revenue faster as an important benefit.

2.Reduced Costs

Organizations experience significant cost savings when data connections can be created faster. Especially when business users can create data connections themselves, as this is more cost effective than devoting IT resources, time and manpower. Our respondents agreed, with 68 percent identifying reduced cost as an important business benefit.

3.Unified Design

A key element to empowering business users to take over integration is making sure the design and UX is simple and user-friendly enough for non-technical users to navigate. 57 percent of respondents stated unified architecture and design as very important to enable ease of use.

4.Self-Service Capability

Self-service capabilities for business users are key for today’s IT professionals when it comes to integration. 78 percent of our respondents indicated that this would be the most important capability in their integration solution as it frees IT to focus on higher core initiative for their companies.

5.Reduced Long-Term Support

57 percent of the companies we surveyed indicated that an effective integration solution reduces their costs associated with long term support and on-going professional services contracts.

6.Ease in Business

Lastly, an astounding 93 percent of IT professionals we surveyed reported that a solution and provider that is easy to work with and has a better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is a top benefit for which they’re looking.
